  2. Mrs. Spielmann says:

It is all thanks to the coach Mr. Anastassov and his staff. His dedication and hard work with the kids is paying off. This select academy takes time with each player to design individual programs.

  3. Mrs. Spielmann says:

We love DTA! Mr. Anastassov takes time with all his players to develop their game to the full potential

First Round Main Draw Texas Grand Slam

    Girls 14 Singles

One of our most pleasant experiences in the first day of this great tournament was delivered by our qualifier A. Shosid, who advanced to the second round of the Texas Grand Slam by defeating A. Gilani 6:2; 6:1.

Another interesting first round match reminded me of the great carton Tom and Jerry. Unfortunately in this version of the carton Jerry lost. S. Spielmann def. M. McCrary 6-2; 6-2, and advanced to the second round.

Second Round Main Draw Texas Grand Slam

    Girls 14 Singles

A.Shosid wining strike was interrupted by the # 9 sited J. Reisler. The age difference was obvious, in the physical appearance of the two players, J. Reisler, nearly 15 years of age. Unfortunately J. Reisler not only towered A. Shosid she also had a ton more of experience at this level. The final score was 0:6 3:6, for J. Reisler. Don’t be fooled by the score, the physical, age and experience differences between the two players. A. Shosid was a taught opponent, and J. Reisler had to earn each point. The match was a lot closer then it looked on paper.

    A. Shosid will play tomorrow morning against J. Mee in the back draw.

This nearly two and a half hour match, was a test of patience not only for the players, but also for the parents and the coaches. The game was filled with tension, created by the sudden shift in leads. Dallas Tennis Academy rigorous fitness program gave S. Spielmann’s the edge in this match. Her great fitness shape allowed her not only to keep her cool, but also to make in her monster serves and forehands when it counted. S. Spielmann def.C. Otto 6-2; 1-6; 7-5.

    S. Spielmann advanced to the round of 32 and will play at 12:30 p.m. against P. Niezgoda.
